Yesica Balderrama (Cis/She/Her) is a bilingual journalist and producer based in New York City. Her beats are education, health, immigration, nonprofits, and labor. Her work has appeared on WNYC, Slate, The Associated Press, Latino USA, Guernica, Mental Floss, and others.

She has been a freelancer in the field for 5+ years and has worked on written, visual, and audio journalism projects. See resume here for detailed professional experience.

Yesica has been a DACA recipient since 2012. She attended William Cullen Bryant High School in Astoria, Queens and earned a BFA in English & Digital Design in 2015. Her interests include nature, music shows, bookstores, and art museums.

She lives in NYC with her partner (Cis/He/Him) and their pet hamster Cocoa Dorito. â€‹
